Working with the Land

The biggest draw to this place for me was the land, it is almost a 1/4 section, for some unknown reason one of the corners is crooked and I have a drainage ditch, which I call my creek, running through the middle which is technically not my land.  I love the forests, the creek, the fields, marshes and meadows.  My dream includes making space within this land for humans to enjoy it in relative comfort.  I’ve put up a hammock at the bend in the creek and that’s about all I have done so far, but I’d like to see small natural build cabins, benches for reflection and a walking path through the woods.

I’ll write about my adventures and experiments in gardening and all I am learning in the process.  I have made 2 huglekulture gardens, one is a year old, and one is new this year, I’ll share the process and the rationale behind them.  I’ll continue to share my journey with my Welcome Bench and all the things I’m trying to do to help my land recover from years of agriculture taking all it can.  My dream is to help restore this land to a thriving and diverse ecosystem.
